Republishing Guidelines

Part of Searchlight New Mexico’s mission is to produce journalism that empowers New Mexicans to demand honest, effective public policy. You are welcome to republish our articles and visuals, for free, so long as you follow the ground rules laid out below. And if you do republish, let us know!
Searchlight New Mexico retains all copyright interests in our articles and visuals/multimedia.
Contact Director of Operations Christian Marquez, christian@searchlightnm.org, with questions about our republishing guidelines.
Guidelines for republishing articles

1. You must give the writer credit, in a format similar to “by John Smith, Searchlight New Mexico”.
2. If you publish online, you must include the links from the story, and a link to our website.
3. You may make changes to fit your house style, i.e., “Raton, N.M.” instead of “Raton”. You may trim our articles.
4. If you make significant changes beyond style, such as adding new reporting, you must include a note similar to “with additional reporting by (your publication or your reporter’s name)”.
5. You may republish our photos, videos and graphics along with the stories in which they originally appeared. Proper copyright credit to Searchlight New Mexico must be given. For other uses of visual materials, you must receive advance permission from us.
