Amanda Lavin
Amanda Lavin is the legal director for the New Mexico Foundation for Open Government (NMFOG), a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization committed to helping citizens, students, educators, public officials, media and legal professionals understand and exercise their right to know. In her role as legal director, Lavin works to uphold New Mexico’s freedom of information laws and the First Amendment through litigation, education and outreach. Lavin joined NMFOG in January of 2024. Prior to that, she worked for the Office of the Federal Defender and the New Mexico Law Offices of the Public Defender.
